Maps of Perception is a series of sculptural paintings about how feeling shapes what we see. The form is mathematics, an aperiodic geometry that never repeats, worked out with Dugan Hammock from models of higher dimensional space. The colour comes from Doddz. Over a series of recorded conversations with the data scientist McVal Osborne, he talked about memory, tension, belonging and identity, and McVal turned the emotion in those conversations into calibrated colour. Made with Sam Senchal and Dugan Hammock. Every piece is a portrait of how Doddz felt that day.
